APV History

A brief history of APV.

Initiated in the 1960s, the Villages of Poinciana was one of Florida’s early planned unit developments. In 1972, Poinciana was formally established as the largest, unincorporated, master-planned community in the United States.

Over the years, the Villages grew from a small retirement community to a bustling cluster of subdivisions, home to more than 50,000 residents and predominantly a family community. To give homeowners a voice in the affairs of the community, and to provide quality services for our fast-growing villages, the Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) was established in 1972. Today, APV is your representative organization, giving you the power to help shape our community, today and in the future.

FirstService Residential began managing APV in 2013. Since then, the community has flourished, and now the 47,000-acre, unincorporated, suburban community encompasses both Polk and Osceola counties between Haines City and Kissimmee, Florida and is enriched by more than 23,000 homes and more than 250 businesses.
