Middle schools.

There are five middle schools serving students who live in Poinciana Villages. Two of these schools are in Osceola County and three are in Polk County. For information about each school, and to find out which schools are in your neighborhood zone, please click on the individual school link.

Osceola County

Horizon Middle School (6th – 8th)

Home of the Eagles, Horizon Middle School “strives to develop self-confident and creative students willing to take risks within a challenging and innovative environment.” Led by Principal Michelle Henninger, the faculty and staff of Horizon, bottom line, put students first. (Osceola County)

Discovery Intermediate School (6th – 8th)

Discovery Intermediate school has adopted a “Student-Parent-Teacher-School” Compact, focused on partnerships between the three parties to ensure the best education possible for students.  (Osceola County)

Lake Marion Creek Middle School (5th – 8th grade)

Located in Poinciana and Home of the Panthers, Lake Marion Creek begins it’s venture from an elementary school to a middle school in the fall of 2014. Principal MaryJo Costine and her staff are passionate about bringing new and innovative technologies to the students. (Polk County)

Daniel Jenkins Academy (6th – 8th grade)

Daniel Jenkins Academy a school of choice with emphasis placed on Florida Environmental Studies. The school believes that it is necessary that students understand the need to preserve Florida’s resources and environment in order for the quality of life to continue in our state.  (Polk County)

Dundee Ridge Academy (5th – 8th grade)

Formally Dundee Ridge Middle School, Dundee Ridge Academy transitioned from a middle school to a Magnet pre-International Baccalaureate school. The newly revamped academy will feature rigorous academics with a focus on science, technology, engineering, arts and math. Additionally, there are outdoor leadership features including hiking, orienteering and survival skills. Students have access to graphic design classes, agriculture studies in areas like animal science, aquaculture, hydroponics, forestry, plant science and more.  (Polk County)
